YOUR SUPPORT PROGRAM, BY DESIGN
Our support programs are not off-the-shelf, one-size-fits-all. That’s why we always begin with a Discovery and Planning phase that includes meeting with you and your team to understand your advocacy aims and messaging, and the specific needs of your advocates. Then we work together to identify outcomes and set specific goals. If appropriate, we also assist with your advocacy messaging.
From there, we design a customized program that typically includes these three key areas:
1. Advocate Engagement and Prep
To prepare your advocates for a successful coaching experience and encourage active participation, we work with you to design engaging pre-coaching activities such as thought-provoking exercises, readings from Living Proof: Telling Your Story to Make a Difference or a webinar or keynote (live or recorded) on the power of personal stories to create change.
2. Fundamentals and Developmental Exercises
Advocates learn best practices for making an impact with personal stories and explore The Five Qualities of a Well-Told Advocacy Story via a combination of instruction by coaches and interactive exercises. The exercises build advocates’ communication and storytelling skills and prepare them for presentation and/or media appearances.
3. Practice and Coaching
Advocates receive presentation and/or media skills practice and immediate feedback and encouragement from coaches in an inviting, safe and professional environment.
